Acceleration

Acceleration: increase in rate of progress: an increase in the rate at which something happens or develops

Bo Stern directed me yesterday, through a Facebook status update, to consider what theme word the Lord giving me to define the year 2013.  When I first read here word ‘exchange’, I knew that was perfect for her and for her family.

I wondered if the Lord had a word for me and immediately I heard ‘acceleration’. No, I don’t want that word.  Things are accelerating just fine in my life, no more fastness.  My little girl has grown into a beautiful middle school student that has focus and determination and wants to wear dresses and curl her hair(unlike the past 11 years).  My boy is now wearing man-sized clothes and moved from 32×30 jeans to 34×32 in exactly 24 days.  I have a receipt to prove it.  2013 will be the year I turn 42…easily mistaken for mid 40’s and after not having restored my grey hair since well before thanksgiving, its proof that I too am growing old, quickly it may seem, as I was just 18 yesterday.

Ok, Lord, give me another word.  Acceleration.  No, come on, I’ll spend some time in prayer and we’ll come up with a different one.  Acceleration.  Lord, if you could just fit in my little box and do my plan, I’d appreciate it.  Acceleration, it’s not what you think.

Fine, lets sit and tell me about it, Lord

Dear daughter,

To accelerate means to cause faster progress, development, advancement, or hastening. It means to change the velocity or rate of motion. It also means to reduce the time normally required for a certain activity.

Time is subject to Me, the God of the universe, but I AM is no subject of time.

The anointed one has a special ability to accelerate your life, your dreams, and your ministry just like he brought that boat the distance of four miles in a moment.

16 When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, 17 where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. 18 A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. 19 When they had rowed about three or four miles,[a] they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were frightened. 20 But he said to them, “It is I; don’t be afraid.” 21 Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.

The anointing of acceleration is not about life passing you by faster or kids growing up faster. Acceleration is about speeding up progress. It is about bringing you to the exact place I want you to be. This is a year that will make up for that ‘lost in the middle of the lake experience’, where the darkness, abandonment, opposition, circumstances and fear held you back.

I AM accelerating you into your destiny. The purpose you were created. You will have quicker answer to prayer and faster resolution to challenges. Your life will be exponentially built and shored up on all sides, financially, spiritually, physically, mentally and relationally.

My ways are not your ways,

God
