In Christ Alone

In Christ alone my hope is found,  He is my light my strength my song

I would like to share part of the beautiful song with you  today. It’s a modern day hymn extraordinaire.  Written by Keith Getty (Ireland) and Stuart Townend (England).  The entire song rocks my world every time I hear it and sing it and worship to it.  I will share parts of it today and then the middle two verses tomorrow.  Let it sit with you and let the words wash over in comfort.

This Cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm.  What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease.

These words held me in a time when there wasn’t much solid ground and when the ground moves ever so slightly I remember I am firm because God is BIG.

My comforter, my All in All, here in the love of Christ I stand.

I’ll often say to myself when things do shift a little or the boat of likes is pushed around more then is comfortable, “Tracy go to the love of Christ, you can stand there”.

No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me.

As the hours of life slip by and loved ones go on and friends battle illness that will end in death, I am assured that there is no fear in death.  I know that to be 100% true.  To those who are God’s, they are his and death is not the end it is the beginning and I can know that and stand on that because this is the power of Christ in me.

From life’s first cry to final death, Jesus commands my destiny

This is spoken about over and over in my family.  If nothing else my children will know that Jesus commands their destiny and they will do well to follow hard after Him.

No power of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from His hand. ‘Til he returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I stand.

On Christ the solid rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand…
