I worry.  I do, I know that I write on this blog about the greatness of God and His faithfulness.  I write about trusting Him and believing in Him but the truth is I don’t always heed my own advice or listen to wisdom.  I often times get caught up in this world and let my worries take me for a stroll.  I forsake God and His promises and I get sucked into the abyss…

“Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.” – Isaiah 26:4

Yes, you and I should trust in the Lord forever BUT….

It’s the BUT that always stinksSmile

Last night my husband was dreaming about having property someday where he could have a shop to play in and a tractor to drive and a view to see.  He just wants some space and for 1/2 a million dollars, he had found just the perfect spot.

I crushed him, right then and there….I really did.  First of all we can’t even pay our property taxes right now, let alone think about some nice property with a view and some space.  I have two expensive kids with needs and wants and they all cost money.  I have really expensive bills at work that have me locked into payments for 5 years and the healthcare system that we work in is a little unstable right now.  Thanks Obama!  So, how on on earth, why on earth would we even dream about some beautiful property where we would have to work more on our property and work more at work just to get by….sounds horrible.

Crushed.

Sorry babe, my BUT’s in life sucked me down and then I smacked you with the BUT’s as well.

“When I am afraid I will trust in you.”
–Psalm 56:3

Its hard to do that isn’t it.  Especially because The One we trust in is kinda invisible.  I mean, yes I see signs of the living God all around me, His Holy Spirit lives right inside me but His human person is not sitting next to me on the couch or driving with me to swim practice or working with my struggling high school student.

I can say, “When I am afraid I will trust in you”, but the truth is sometimes I only say it and I don’t live it.  When this happens, life stinks.  I’m stuck and lost and fearful and my family sees it and knows it and then I crush dreams!

I don’t have any answers for you today because the bible says:

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matt 6:34 NIV

And since I know that today REALLY does have enough trouble of its own, I’m very concerned about this already….BUT….

Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.  Isaiah 40:31 NIV

Here is to soaring like an eagle and running with strength and not fainting today!

  1. We all have “butts”, err, I mean “but’s”. I can relate to your post today. I can say it over and over and then………..life, doubt, fear. Darn it, I did it again but I LOVE LOVE LOVE that His is a God of grace and we can hold our faces up after our “but’s” have consumed us and He shines His love upon us.

Hang in there girlfriend, your faith is strong. Look up !!!!!!!!!

    Hugs
