In a conversation with a new acquaintance the question came up…’is your son tall for his age?’  ‘No I reply, he is a little above average but many children in his class are taller than him.’  ‘Oh she reply’s he just seems so tall compared to other 3rd graders I know.’ Noah (9), standing next to me says, “That’s because mom feeds us good food, takes care of us and loves us so we grow”.

OHHHH, what a sweetie…(I dropped everything in front of everyone, grabbed his precious cheeks and gave him a big ‘ol kiss on the head, “I Just love you Noah”)  “What, it’s true” he says.

It is true, I do feed him well(turkey sandwiches and chicken nuggets and an occasional carrot!)  and I do take care of him and I love him more than any mom I know!

Do you know that God feeds you well and he takes care of you and he LOVES you.  He really LOVES you!

Psalm 18: 3, 16, 19   I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies…He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters….He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he DELIGHTED in me.

DELIGHTED!!!!!  God is highly pleased with you, with all your shortcomings, with all your hang ups, with all your attempts to get things right, with all your successes, with all your charity.  God is captivated by you.  

John 15:15 says you are Christ’s Friend. 

The God of all Creation, who holds you in the palm of His hand, who knows every hair on your head and how every cell in your body was made to work, that God, who is mighty to save, calls you friend.

Friends, turn to Him, turn to Him new today, with a new sense of awe and thankfulness.  I know some of us are in situations that find it hard to grasp that God could be delighting in anything.  But the truth is he delights in JUST YOU!  Just being with you, just you turning to him and saying here I am.  Turn to Him today, take a moment to say, thanks God for feeding me, taking care of me and loving me just as I am. 

Jeremiah 31:3 I have loved you with an everlasting(never failing or coming to an end) love…I have drawn(brought close to himself) you with loving kindness.
