The sweet sound of silence….and a little Phil Wickham in the background.
I’m sitting in my office waiting for the ladies to gather. Its our second Tuesday night of The Gathering and we are deep into this concept of Wisdom. Last week we opened the can of worms called “The Fear of the Lord”. It’s a scary thing really, when you hear those words for the first time and it can be a bit daunting to be willing to dig into that concept a little deeper. But that is exactly what I hope these ladies did because I’m desperate for more wisdom on this.
What I love most about the idea of a true, honest to goodness, ‘bible study’ bible study, is that God is speaking truth into the hearts of precious few about the same concept and we are going to just learn this thing. Its like having a research team. We all go out and do the study and research and hypothesizing and theorizing and theologying…and come back together, compare notes and learn. Our hearts get bigger and our knowledge goes deeper and God comes and it’s just brilliant.
Tonight, the ladies don’t know this yet but I opened a scripture that I could camp on for a week.
Psalm 34:8-9 O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! O fear the Lord, you His saints; for those who fear Him, there is no want.
NO WANT!
If you are like me, and I’m sure you are…I want. I have wants, seriously, some ridiculous wants that really won’t amount to anything and tonight were gonna read all about that in Ecc 12:12-13. But I do have wants…
God is telling me that if I fear the Lord, there is no want!
Let me have some of that Wisdom, Lord. And ladies hurry up and get here, I’m about to explode at the Glory of God’s goodness!
Insane – I came home and rushed to shoot you a quick thank you, and my computer which had gone dead, rebooted and opened to this very post of yours, regarding tonight of all crazy things. I am reading this as: ‘Those who fear The Lord truly have no want (everything they need)’ – just simply meaning HIM; we couldn’t want for more. Do we have more? Do we crave more? Yes, yes, and yes, and He even gives more (a Lord of abundance), but He truly is our only need-need. Too stinkin’ cool, really… loving being stretched and pulled; I think 🙂 THANK YOU for following His leading to join us together in His word! xo – andrea
Seriously, the bumps won’t go away, this thing God is doing….tears in my eyes at this goodness…WOW! So glad you are part of this Andrea!
