Wrong book, RIGHT message

I’ve been faithfully reading with our church the daily ‘ready, set, go’ bible readings.  Today, March 10th, 2008, it is listed to read Deuteronomy 13-15 and Galatians 1.  Wonderful, messages in Deuteronomy, of what not to eat and who to stone to death for what reason.  Also, a noteworthy caution not to worship false gods, #1 on my list of don’ts.

Then, how wonderful is it when the Holy Spirit steps in and you read something you were not prescribed to read in your daily devotions…

I rush off to the new testament to start reading Galatians 1, from one of my favorites, Paul.  And as I read, I am caught up in a verse that I read over and over, so excited I’m going to pee my pants.  As I begin to journal on the great scripture I found in Galatians, I find I’m in Ephesians!  So, the dilemma, do I stop journeling on my nugget of truth that I found in the wrong reading for the day or move forward with the wonderful excitement bubbling within…  I move forward.  I take a risk.  I don’t even read Galatians 1 because I have had a moment with the Holy Spirit of the One and only living God.  This verse has moved me!

Eph 1: 13-14             And YOU also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.  Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession -to the praise of his glory.

If you are a believer in Christ you are marked with a seal that guarantees your inheritance in heaven!  You are God’s possession and you have a place reserved, prepared for you in Higher Places.  Even Higher Places are meant for you today.  God has big plans for you, ‘Sealed One’, He has abundance for you.  Take hold and make it yours. Live your life reflecting your heritage.  A daughter or a son of the King!
