When I was young I met each sunday in the church kitchen for Sunday school. I remember learning bible stories and answering questions about them. It seemed like someone always shouted out the same guess of “Jesus” to the answer of the questions. I remember the sunday school teacher saying one time, “The answer isn’t always Jesus”. I think she was wrong. The answer is always Jesus. Every question I have about God’s word comes back to Jesus.
Take this seeking after of Wisdom for example. We’ve been seeking the truths of wisdom for about 2 months now. We’ve been through Solomon’s life, we’ve realized that wisdom comes from obedience and fear of The Lord, and then we came across this beauty of truth..
…attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Col 2:2,3
Where o, where do we find this wisdom?
In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
The answer is Jesus.
But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. 1 Cor 1:30
Yep Jesus.
Just as you are robbed in the righteousness of Christ, it is not your righteousness that God sees when he looks to you but Christ’s righteousness. Not by your works that you may not boast but by the righteousness of Christ. The gift freely given to make you in right standing before God. (freely given but painfully given…this is another revelation for another time). Just as His Righteousness is yours so is the wisdom that He encompasses. If Christ is our wisdom we possess it before God in Christ, not in ourselves. We posses this wisdom by faith. Wisdom is conforming of our thinking to the truth about reality as seen in the person of christ.
The word says that in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Those who are “knowing God”, “called by him”, must make application of faith, spend time with the word, draw from the treasure of Christ. Its the only way to find it! Find Jesus you find wisdom. Get closer to Jesus, you get wisdom. Know God’s word…wisdom.
The highest wisdom and knowledge lies in knowing Jesus. Jesus is the treasure you are looking for, in Him lies wisdom. The treasure can not be had without KNOWING Him, therefore Jesus should be inquired after and searched for. Explore hidden wisdom to attain all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding. Until you seek they remain hidden.
The profound truth of all this wisdom seeking is that no wisdom is had outside of having Jesus.
The answer is always Jesus.
